Fangs is an unofficial Elite Dangerous noir-inspired web comic by Lee Hutchinson. The Fangs, Book One: What the Watching Gods Thought, consists of 10 chapters. Fangs, Book Two: Every Man's Wish On Board, tells a cohesive story about a specific set of characters aboard their ship, Lucy.
Fangs is a noir-style web comic that takes the form of a ten-part series of short vignettes into the Elite: Dangerous universe. It tells tales of pirates, smugglers, traders, bounty hunters, and explorers. It's about why we fly and fight out in the black, why we love the ships that take us there, and why sometimes we should be afraid of the dark. It's my hope that everyone can see a little of themselves somewhere in the strip's pages, and if you want to dive right into page one, you can do that right here.
Comic Books Edit
Fangs, Book One: What the Watching Gods Thought Edit
"Then I could not help wondering what the watching gods thought of us, with our clever masks and our jokes. What we think of crickets, perhaps, whose singing we hear with pleasure, though some of us smash them with our heels when they venture into sight." —Gene Wolfe
Fangs, Book Two: Every Man's Wish On Board Edit
"Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board. For some they come in with the tide. For others they sail forever on the horizon, never out of sight, never landing until the Watcher turns his eyes away in resignation, his dreams mocked to death by Time. That is the life of men. Now, women forget all those things they don't want to remember, and remember everything they don't want to forget. The dream is the truth." —Zora Neale Hurston
