First introduced in Frontier: Elite II, the giant Orbis station is based upon the Stanford torus design. The 4 km diameter torus provides open spaces for the population while the 2km diameter torus provides a living environment with 0.5 gravity. To support these mega markets there are enormous storage bays located at the rear of the starport.
Orbis stations come with varying torus configurations as well as two different interiors. While most will have the "default" industrial-looking docking area, you'll occasionally find a more luxurious one that has shiny white landing pads with palm trees around them.
